The Guadalajara International Film Festival is a week-long film festival which has been held each March since 1986 in the Mexican city of Guadalajara. The festival is considered the most prestigious film festival in Latin America and among the most important Spanish-language film festivals in the world. The presence in Guadalajara of delegates from many other important festivals from around the world has helped Mexican cinema gain a strong international presence in the last twenty years.
