Starting in December 2018, Panamanian Copa Airlines will offer direct flights from Panama City to Puerto Vallarta twice weekly departing on Thursdays and Sundays from both locations. The route will operate on a Boeing 737-700 designed for 12 passengers in Executive Class and 112 in the Main Cabin.

Copa Airlines will be landing in the region after more than 8 years of combined public relations efforts from the CVB, Fidetur, the tourism secretariats of Jalisco and Nayarit, and with the support of the Mexico Tourism Board. The economic outlook of Latin America is promising, and it is predicted that 10,000 passengers will travel on this flight during the first year and hopefully more in the future. Puerto Vallarta is delighted that Copa Airlines has taken this region of the Mexican Pacific into account.
