This new project is the ‘dream’ of several Mexican investors and will over the course of the next few years become a major ‘Theme Park’. Every phase of the park will be tied to the Mayan Culture in some form and the overall concept is to develop a ‘Theme Park’ to rival any other in Mexico, but always to stress the importance of the Mayan Cultural Heritage in the area.

PHASE 1

The first stage of the complex will be opening by Fall 2018. It is estimated to be completed by 2020. The park will display the Mayan heritage in each of the 5 areas that will be part of Amikoo. Some of the available attractions in the first stage of Amikoo will include a Mayan history and anthropology museum, a 1,200 room resort, and a shopping area; as well as a theme park with 24 attractions, restaurants and shows.

PHASE 2

In its second phase, there will be Maya Discovery (history of the Maya) and Maya Extreme (Mayan Sacred trees). Amikoo Theme Park is also preparing special attractions such as “Mares de Mexico”. This attraction is a simulator to showcase the diversity of marine life in Mexico. Moreover, there will be “Fly Over Mexico”, a flying journey across Mexico’s most popular destinations, some other areas will include “Amikoo Surf Spot”, an artificial beach area and a wave pool, “Pirates of Bacalar”, which will represent the history of pirates in the area and a lot more attractions including interaction with Amikoo characters.

We are sure Amikoo Park will come to be one of the biggest attractions in the Riviera Maya.
