In our February 2021 Newsletter we have decided to concentrate on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and what is happening in Mexico concerning the situation, particularly in terms of the Travel Industry.

As already mentioned in our January 2021 Newsletter the situation for our company throughout 2020 was difficult to say the least and still we are faced with a great deal of uncertainty how 2021 is going to turn out.

The regulation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) came into effect on Tuesday, January 26, which determines that all passengers must take a COVID test within 72 hours prior to boarding their flight to the United States and carry the results in an electronic device or paper to present them to the airline prior to travel.

Therefore starting Monday, January 25, temporary COVID detection test modules have been installed at the airports of Mexico City, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Cancún.

PUERTO VALLARTA AIRPORT WILL OFFER COVID-19 TESTING TO HELP MEET NEW U.S. TRAVEL RULES

The airports of Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta will have laboratories for the application of covid-19 detection tests starting today, January 25, 2021.

The Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) will offer this service, as the United States Government will require from Tuesday, January 26, a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test from all people entering its territory.

IN MEXICO 12 AIRPORTS WILL CONDUCT COVID TESTS FOR THOSE TRAVELING TO THE U.S.

MEXICO CITY (Agencies) – A few days ago, it was announced that people who decide to travel to the United States would be required to take a COVID-19 test with a negative result within 72 hours before boarding their flight. According to an announcement by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), 12 airports in Mexico will install temporary laboratories where passengers will be able to take the test.

This measure will begin to be implemented as of Monday, January 25 at the airports of Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Guanajuato, Hermosillo, Mexicali, Morelia, La Paz, Aguascalientes, Los Mochis and Manzanillo.

Riviera Maya, Mexico: To continue providing guests with the highest levels of service, safety and peace of mind, Banyan Tree Mayakoba has partnered with Azumed to offer onsite COVID-19 testing. Antigen testing will be included for every paying guest with check-in date after January 25th, 2021. PCR testing will be available with an extra charge. Testing will be made at a temporary lab facility located onsite available everyday between 8 am - 1 pm and 2 pm – 4 pm, except on Sundays.
