VOLARIS CONNECTS THE RIVIERA NAYARIT WITH QUERÉTARO AND PHOENIX

JULY 4, 2019

Volaris, the ultra-low-cost airline operating in Mexico, the United States, and Central America began two new flights on June 16, 2019, to the Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit region from Querétaro, Mexico, and Phoenix, Arizona.

These new routes reinforce the region’s connectivity with the national and international markets; the airline is responding to the growing demand within Mexico and the United States just before the summer season.

According to information from the Marketing and Market Development office, the new routes—QRO-PVR/Riviera Nayarit and PHX-PVR/Riviera Nayarit—will both operate on Airbus 320 craft with a capacity for 186 passengers each. The flights are expected to bring in over 10 thousand passengers, as both will run from June through December 2019.

Of note is the fact the Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport—which services both Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit—is one of Mexico’s busiest. According to data offered by the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), the airport welcomed over 597 thousand international visitors during the first trimester of 2019, topped only by the Mexico City and Cancun airports.
