UPDATE

FEBRUARY 04, 2021

The regulation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) came into effect on Tuesday, January 26, which determines that all passengers must take a COVID test within 72 hours prior to boarding their flight to the United States and carry the results in an electronic device or paper to present them to the airline prior to travel.

Therefore starting Monday, January 25, temporary COVID detection test modules have been installed at the airports of Mexico City, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Cancún. Antigen tests costs range around 500 pesos and the PCR test around 2,000 pesos and both prices will be applicable to passengers on international flights. If the passenger wishes to take the test at the airport, it is recommended by the airline that they add to their travel itinerary at least an additional hour if taking the antigen test which is delivered in 15 minutes. The PCR test is delivered in 24 hours.

All of these airports supported the installation of laboratories, so that passengers and crew of international flights can undergo Covid-19 tests, which is a requirement to travel to some countries. In the next few days, more laboratories with the Cofepris certification will be installed to perform the examination and detect Covid-19.
